The motivation to establish such a division in the company lies in the fact
that pollutants which affect the human environments are water, soil and wind. Since the
company's major activities deal with water and soil it was important to have the
in-house capability of evaluating changes in human environments due to envisaged development
projects. Further, if due consideration to environment protection is not given it leads
to reduction to benefits of development projects and the works may prove hazardous to
human beings. Thus there is need to mitigate effects of pollutants arising out of a
development project as well as to ensure ecological balance which is necessary for
protection of beneficiaries of the development projects.

to analyze, evaluate the adverse effects, of a development project and recommend
solutions to mitigate those in case of need.
